It’s been only a short time since we had the chance to meet in Bratislava on the occasion of organizing the 1st European Congress of Hockey Medicine. Pleasant atmosphere, many friendly meetings, an interesting scientific program and a very positive international feedback inspired us to organize this event again.

I believe that June 2-4, 2016 will become the date when we all meet in Slovakia and we will write the second chapter of the congress together. We cordially invite you and we hope that also this event will be inspiring and enjoyable for you.

See you in Bratislava,

Igor Nemeček, Dr.
President of Slovak Ice Hockey Federation

Andrea Švrčková

One of the main topics of the congress will be „Nutrition and drinking habits of an athlete“. This topic iniciated a very passionate and interesting discussion during the previous congress. Experts from different countries will again have the opportunity to present their expertise and compare experiences from their practice. We will discuss issues as injuries, concussion, anti-doping, usage of prohibited substances during sport activities and also legislative processes related to sport.

Following the official congress program we will move to the Ondrej Nepela Hockey Arena, where a „rescue workshop focused on ice hockey injuries“ will take place on the ice. Afterwards, congress participants can join an exhibition hockey game and play together with some Slovak hockey players and legends. Busy Friday afternoon will be relieved by a hockey arena tour – venue of 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and friendly visit at Slovak Ice Hockey Federation office.

Our sincere thanks belong to partner companies supporting the congress, to professional partners and to the members of IIHF Medical Committee for their cooperation during preparation of the congress.

It will be a honour for us to welcome you again and to wish you a pleasant stay in Slovakia.

Andrea Švrčková, M.D.,MHA
Chief of the Medical Committee of Slovak IHF
